Nord sul Lago di Garda (North on Lake Garda)

On my second visit to Lazise Rosetta took me to Bardolino and Machesine, two towns north of where she and her children live on the eastern side of Lago di Garda. In Bardolino I visited the house where she grew up which is absolutely stunning. Her husband Giorgio did all of the interior wood work which is intricate and modern and original and is just amazing... the attention to detail is phenominal. She also took me to the Bardolino Cemetary and for this I was ridiculously excited. Odd to be excited for a cemetary, I know, but there I was able to VISIT THE GRAVE OF MY GREAT GREAT GRANDFATHER AND MOTHER. WOW. DOUBLE WOW. DOUBLE RAINBOW WOW.

Here is a picture of the stone with their pictures on it. It's a family grave so there are other pictures on here too of, for instance, Rosetta's brother. I know it's weird to post pictures of a headstone-like thing but it's for the aunts!

For the Valetti Family.
Ciao Nonno and Nonna x3!
This is in Macesine, a town on the northeast of Lago di Garda. As you drive north the landscape gets more and more intense as the mountains get higher and higher. From Macesine you can take a furnicular (gondola) to the top of the mountain (not pictured here, it's to the left in this photo) and go skiing on the other side. It's quite a long ride up (the mountains are closer to the lake if you look left) but I can only imagine the view at the top. What a wonderful town, though. Rosetta wanted to get gelato but everything was still closed - so we had coffee instead. And saw sunset here!

I see you Dolomites!
Next time I want to take a ride in this 19th century sailboat.
Sunset. Must get this printed and framed for Rosetta!

Next post will be on my day trip to Lago di Como! Did I or did I not see George Clooney?!?!?!
